...On this Multi-day dual sport adventure. Starting in the colonial city of Granada, the journey takes riders through volcanic jungles, crater lakes, remote dirt roads and across the vast waters of Lake Nicaragua to the legendary volcanic island of Ometepe!
The expedition finishes on the Pacific coast in the vibrant surf town of San Juan del Sur. The perfect place to celebrate the ride with sunset drinks overlooking the bay.
Designed for beginner to intermediate adventureous riders, this trip blends technical riding, incredible scenery and authentic local experiences.

Arrival in Granada
Guests arrive at the airport (Managua) and transfer to the historic colonial city of Granada.
After checking into your accommodation, you’ll meet your Banditos guide and crew for a relaxed welcome briefing covering the bikes, route and what to expect over the next few days.
In the evening we'll head out for a welcome dinner at one of Granada’s iconic restaurants
Day 1 - Volcano Trails
Granada → Masaya → Laguna de Apoyo
Riding Time: 4–5 hours
Terrain: Volcanic dirt roads, gravel tracks, jungle trails
After breakfast in Granada we ride out toward the smoking cone of Masaya Volcano.
The morning is spent exploring volcanic trails and scenic viewpoints around the volcano.
From there we continue along hidden countryside backroads and dirt tracks to a relaxed lunch stop along the route.
In the afternoon the ride drops down into the stunning crater lake of Laguna de Apoyo.
Evening
Swim in the warm volcanic lake, relax by the shoreline and enjoy sunset drinks beside the water.
Overnight at Laguna de Apoyo.
Day 2 - Jungle and Island crossing
Laguna de Apoyo → Mombacho → Ometepe
Riding Time: 5–6 hours (including ferry)
After breakfast overlooking the crater lake we climb back into the volcanic highlands and ride jungle trails surrounding Mombacho Volcano.
This section flows through lush nature reserve tracks and coffee plantation roads — some of the most scenic riding in the region.
By midday we reach the ferry port on Lake Nicaragua where the bikes are loaded onto the ferry.
The crossing takes us to the legendary volcanic island of Ometepe Island.
After arriving on the island we cruise along scenic lakeside roads to our accommodation.
Evening
Optional sunset ride followed by dinner with views of Ometepe’s twin volcanoes.
Overnight on Ometepe.
Day 3 - The Pacific Run
Ometepe → Pacific Coast → San Juan del Sur
Riding Time: 4–5 hours
After breakfast on the island we explore the quieter backroads of Ometepe beneath the towering volcanoes before stopping for lunch.
In the afternoon we catch the ferry back to the mainland and begin the final stretch of the journey.
The route winds through rolling hills and countryside trails before reaching the Pacific coast and the surf town of San Juan del Sur.
Finish Line
Celebrate the adventure with sunset drinks and an epic coastal dinner overlooking the ocean.

Many riders choose to stay a few extra days to relax or explore nearby beaches like Playa Maderas.
