A small-group, trail-focused expedition across Nicaragua on lightweight dual sport bikes.
Ride jungle trails around Mombacho, volcanic terrain near Masaya and backcountry all the way to the Pacific, then ferry the bikes across Lake Nicaragua to Ometepe Island before finishing on the coast in San Juan del Sur.
It's designed to be as close to fly in and ride as possible. You arrive in Nicaragua and we handle the bikes, route, accommodation and logistics, so you can concentrate on riding and enjoying the country.

The Riding
Our expeditions are primarily off-road and trail focused. Expect a mix of dirt roads, jungle trails, volcanic terrain, plantation tracks, river crossings, mud, sand, rural backroads, light enduro sections and short connecting roads between riding areas.
One of the best things about Nicaragua is how quickly the environment changes. You can be riding jungle trails and volcanic countryside one day, reach the Pacific coast the next, and then take the bikes across Lake Nicaragua to explore Ometepe Island.
Routes Adapted to the Group
The route is not completely fixed. We can change sections of trail to suit the ability and riding style of the group.

Want it harder? We can add more technical enduro sections, tougher climbs, mud, river crossings and tighter trails.

Want it more relaxed? We use faster, smoother, more cruisey trails and backroads while still exploring the same regions.

Option 1 — 4 Riding Days / 5 Nights
Start: Granada | Finish: San Juan del Sur | $1,900 USD per rider
Arrival Day — Granada
Airport pick-up and transfer to Granada. Your first night is in Granada, where you'll have time to settle in, meet the team and get ready for the expedition.
Night: Granada
Day 1 — Granada → Mombacho → Laguna de Apoyo
We leave Granada and begin exploring the backroads and jungle trails around Mombacho. Expect rural tracks, volcanic landscapes and jungle riding before finishing the day at Laguna de Apoyo.
Night: Laguna de Apoyo
Day 2 — Laguna de Apoyo → Masaya → Guasacate / Popoyo
We continue west through the countryside, exploring trails and backroads through the Masaya region. As the day progresses, we leave the volcanic interior behind and make our way towards Nicaragua's Pacific coast.
Night: Guasacate / Popoyo
Day 3 — Popoyo → Ometepe Island
We leave the coast and ride across the Nicaraguan countryside on a mixture of trails, dirt roads and small backroads. At the port we load the motorcycles onto the ferry and cross Lake Nicaragua to Ometepe Island, then keep exploring the island's trails and backroads.
Night: Ometepe Island
Day 4 — Ometepe → San Juan del Sur
We spend the morning riding more of Ometepe before taking the ferry back to the mainland. From there, we ride a final mixture of countryside trails and backroads south to San Juan del Sur.
Final night: San Juan del Sur
Option 2 — 5 Riding Days / 6 Nights
Start: Granada | Finish: San Juan del Sur | $2,300 USD per rider
The additional riding day lets us slow the route down, explore more trail and spend more time riding through the interior of Nicaragua before reaching the Pacific coast.

Airport pick-up and transfer to Granada.
First night: Granada
Day 1 — Granada → Mombacho → Laguna de Apoyo
We leave Granada and start the expedition with rural backroads, volcanic landscapes and jungle trails around Mombacho, finishing the first riding day at Laguna de Apoyo.
Night: Laguna de Apoyo
Day 2 — Laguna de Apoyo → El Crucero
From Laguna de Apoyo, we continue into the countryside towards El Crucero. This area gives us access to rural roads, plantation tracks, jungle, mud and hidden off-road trails.
Night: El Crucero
Day 3 — El Crucero → Guasacate / Popoyo
We leave El Crucero and begin a longer journey across the interior of Nicaragua towards the Pacific. The terrain changes all day: forest, dirt roads, farmland, plantations, small villages and more technical trail sections.
Night: Guasacate / Popoyo
Day 4 — Popoyo → Ometepe Island
We continue south through the backcountry to the ferry, cross Lake Nicaragua with the motorcycles and spend the afternoon exploring Ometepe Island's trails and backroads.
Night: Ometepe Island
Day 5 — Ometepe → San Juan del Sur
We ride our final trails on Ometepe before taking the ferry back to the mainland. From there, we continue through the backcountry to San Juan del Sur for the final section of the expedition.

Group Size
Our expeditions have a maximum of 6 riders.
For a group of 4–6 riders, we organise the right level of guide support so the group stays safe and organised while the riding stays relaxed and adventurous.

We're developing longer expedition routes for the end of this year.
These trips will mean more days on the motorcycles, travelling deeper into Nicaragua and exploring more remote regions for a true cross-country motorcycle expedition.
If your group is interested in something bigger than the 4 or 5-day trip, get in touch and we'll let you know when the longer options are ready.
